Towards the south you can enjoy the wide and wonderful beaches that we recommend in Best beaches in Sanxenxo. If you prefer to explore the peninsula of O Grove or the island of La Toja, here is a selection of the best beaches.
Beach of A Lanzada
A Lanzada beach is one of the most emblematic beaches in O Grove, considered one of the best beaches in the region. It is approximately two and a half kilometres long, a safe bet for lovers of walks on fine sand. This beach has a blue flag but usually has a strong swell, which will catch the attention of audacious bathers.
If you also want to practise water sports such as surfing, windsurfing or kitesurfing, this beach has the right conditions for you, as there are very pronounced air currents, which, combined with the waves and the safety of its waters, attract a large number of visitors for this purpose. It is also a visual spectacle.
On the horizon you will see the silhouette of the islands of Ons, a natural paradise that will make you disconnect and is almost an obligatory visit.
Pedras Negras Beach
If you like photography and want to show off your holidays on Instragram, this is definitely one of your must-see stops. The rock formations, small coves and several hiking trails make this corner a very attractive alternative. You can watch the sunset from one of its coves, enjoy the sea melting into a horizon full of orange colours and you will have a wide range of options to make your day at the beach a great day out.
If after your day at the beach you want to enjoy a pleasant atmosphere, have a drink and enjoy live concerts, don’t miss the Náutico de San Vicente do Mar. A beach bar with a terrace just a few metres from the beach and which is a point of reference in the area for its varied music programme in the summer months.
Area Grande beach in O Grove
A quieter option in O Grove is the Area Grande beach. This 300-metre long beach is characterised by its fine sand. It is a sheltered beach, belonging to the parish of San Vicente do Grove. Its clean, crystal-clear water offers pleasant bathing with a horizon drawn between the characteristic bateas.
This beach offers easy parking and convenient access to the sand.
After a good swim, who doesn’t feel hungry? Luckily, on this beach, you can find two beach bars where you can recharge your batteries.
Area das Pipas beach in O Grove
A beach surrounded by trees and a beautiful landscape of rocks, sand and calm water. Perfect for enjoying a day out with the family. Its extension is quite small and it is preferable to access on foot as it is not easy to find parking. Its location is exceptional to enjoy a beautiful sunset, and you can also do it from the beach bar listening to music while you enjoy the beauty of the landscape.
Beaches on the island of La Toja
On the island of La Toja there are several coves, including Mourisca and Cruz das Ánimas.
