Beaches of Paxariñas
A small beach of only 100 metres in length which, due to its orography, is a perfect option for the windiest days as it is quite sheltered.
A magical and wild beach between rocks and cliffs, in a rural setting, between Punta Cabicastro and a small rocky outcrop called Punta de Paxariñas.
Baltar Beach
Another urban beach located in Portonovo in the shape of a half shell. It is bounded by the Punta del Vicaño, the Muelle del Chasco quay and the Portonovo sports quay. It is 600 metres long and has white sand. It is a windy beach, but with calm waters, which makes it an ideal beach for bathing and water sports. It is surrounded by an area of dunes over which there are wooden walkways that connect Sanxenxo with Portonovo.
Areas Beach
The beach is 750 metres long. At the eastern end of the beach is the small Cala dos Mortos, which is accessible at low tide, and Punta Festiñanzo, with beautiful views of the estuary. Description: Made up of fine white sand and well protected from the winds, this is one of the most popular beaches in the municipality. It also has a small wooden promenade some 200 metres long which runs along part of the beach, from the pedestrian walkway leading down from the car park area, on the right-hand side, to the next access point.
Silgar Beach
Probably the most popular and crowded beach in the municipality. It is located in the heart of Sanxenxo and is bordered by a beautiful promenade.
It is a beach of fine white sand and calm waters.

As a curiosity it is worth mentioning that close to them is the “Corveiro”, the name given to the rock on which the famous sculpture of the Madama is located. One of the most popular monuments of Rías Baixas and a clear emblem of the town of Sanxenxo.
The Madama de Silgar
This sculpture refers to the popular belief of women known as “Encantos, Mouras or Madamas” who were related to the night, the moon and the water. And from this legendary past came the name of the Mamada de Silgar, as a symbol that encompasses all the beauty of the sea.
Montalvo Beach
If you want to combine your day at the beach with a picnic or a barbecue, you’ll love Montalvo and its area of dunes and pine forest. It is a beach with waves and perfect for a day of surfing or bodyboarding.
