Adro Vello Route
The Adro Vello hiking route belongs to the Natural Network 2000, it has a great environmental value. It covers a distance of 3.1 kilometres and lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. It is an easy route and suitable for the whole family or any type of visitor.
This is a route full of history. Its name comes precisely from the archaeological discovery of Adro Vello, an ancient Roman village located on the beach of O Carreiro. Only three metres above sea level, it has several interesting features. Its primitive church, for conservation reasons, currently occupies the temple of San Vicente.
During the route you will be able to perceive the most rural Galicia, passing by beaches of crystalline water and old salting factories. If you decide to do this walk, you will enjoy a 360º journey through the culture of the area.
Umia River Route
This 5.5-kilometre route, which you can enjoy for approximately 1 hour and 18 minutes, runs along the banks of the Umia river. You may prefer to spend more time on it and enjoy its natural charm. The most characteristic tree on this route is the alder, accompanied by ferns and nettles. If you are observant, you will also be able to perceive the smell of laurel or even see a trout jumping in the waters of the Umia.
There are numerous legends and traditional tales about the Arnelas Bridge or the Pardiños Bridge, which in conjunction with the beautiful natural surroundings, will make this route a fantasy come true.
San Martiño River Route
The San Martiño River route is a longer route. It runs along its banks for a distance of 11.2 kilometres. The difficulty of this route is medium and its duration is approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes. The route starts in the hills of the parish of San Salvador de Meis.
Surrounded by a beautiful natural environment, visitors can see the characteristic water mills of the region of O Salnés.
Chanca River Route
The Chanca River Route is a good option for those who prefer to extend their walk a little. It covers a distance of 7 kilometres between the municipalities of Meis, Meaño and Sanxenxo. The route begins in the mountains of Santa María de Armenteira, its highest area. The path runs downstream until it reaches the mouth of the Chanca. It is of medium difficulty and lasts approximately 2 hours.
As Lagoas Route
The As Lagoas route is located between Sanxenxo and Vialonga. It is suitable for any type of visitor, has a distance of 3 kilometres and lasts approximately an hour and a half.
The willows are the most abundant tree in the area, and you will also be able to see numerous ducks that live around As Lagoas. The “telleiras” are one of the main attractions of this route, as they have turned O Salnés into a real craft museum.
